1. Who We Are

This privacy policy applies to the Memory Portals website operated by Marina Gröpel & Daniel Gröpel, trading as noizybutpurple, based in Zürich, Switzerland.

Email: info@memoryportals.noizybutpurple.com
Phone: +41 79 535 54 25

We are subject to Swiss data protection law (nDSG) and, to the extent applicable, the European General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR).

2. What Data We Collect and Why

2.1 Waitlist sign-up

When you join our waitlist, we collect your email address. This is stored with our email service provider Brevo to notify you when Memory Portals launch and to communicate about your order. Legal basis: your consent (Art. 6(1)(a) GDPR / Art. 6 nDSG).

2.2 Analytics

We use Matomo Analytics in cookieless mode. Matomo collects anonymised usage data (pages viewed, approximate country, device type, referrer) without setting cookies and without identifying you personally. No cross-site tracking, no advertising networks. Legal basis: legitimate interest in understanding how our website is used (Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR), without requiring cookie consent.

2.3 Server logs

Our hosting provider All-Inkl.com automatically records standard server access logs (IP address, browser, timestamp, requested URL) for security purposes. These logs are retained for up to 7 days and then deleted automatically.

2.4 Personal content you share as a customer

When you commission a Memory Portal, you share personal content: photographs, names, stories, dates and other materials. This content is used exclusively to create your Memory Portal and is never disclosed to third parties. After delivery we retain a secure copy of your files to support potential future additions, updates or re-prints. You may request deletion of your retained files at any time.

2.5 Booking enquiries (Cal.com)

Our demo booking form is provided by Cal.com (EU instance: app.cal.eu). When you book a discovery call, Cal.com processes your name and email to confirm and manage the appointment. Cal.com's own privacy policy applies to data processed on their platform.

2.6 Contact by email or phone

If you contact us by email or phone, we process your contact details and the content of your message in order to respond. This data is not stored beyond what is needed to handle your enquiry.

3. What We Do Not Do

  • We do not use Google Analytics, Facebook Pixel, or any advertising tracking tools
  • We do not sell or share your personal data with third parties for commercial purposes
  • We do not use your email for anything other than Memory Portals communications
  • We do not use tracking cookies or persistent identifiers
  • We do not run remarketing or retargeting campaigns

4. Third-Party Services

  • Matomo Analytics — self-hosted at noizybutpurple.com. Cookieless, anonymised, no advertising network.
    Matomo Privacy Policy
  • Brevo (formerly Sendinblue) — used to store waitlist emails and send transactional messages. Servers located in the EU. Brevo Privacy Policy
  • All-Inkl.com — our web hosting provider based in Germany. Processes server log data as described above. All-Inkl Privacy Information
  • Cal.com (app.cal.eu) — used for booking discovery calls. EU instance. Cal.com Privacy Policy

5. Data Transfers

All service providers we use are based in Switzerland or the EU / EEA, or have adopted appropriate data transfer safeguards. No data is transferred to third countries without an appropriate legal basis.

6. Data Retention

  • Waitlist emails: retained until you unsubscribe or request deletion
  • Customer creative files: retained after project delivery until you request deletion
  • Server logs: deleted after 7 days
  • Analytics data: anonymised — no individual-level retention
  • Email correspondence: retained for as long as necessary to handle the relevant enquiry or order

7. Your Rights

Under the GDPR and the Swiss nDSG, you have the right to:

  • Access the personal data we hold about you
  • Request correction of inaccurate data
  • Request deletion of your data ("right to be forgotten")
  • Withdraw consent at any time (without affecting prior processing)
  • Object to processing based on legitimate interest
  • Data portability where processing is automated and based on consent or contract
  • Lodge a complaint with a supervisory authority (Switzerland: FDPIC; EU: your local DPA)

To exercise any of these rights, contact us at info@memoryportals.noizybutpurple.com.

8. Security

We use HTTPS encryption on all pages. Personal files shared during project creation are stored securely with access restricted to the Memory Portals team. We do not transmit personal content via unsecured channels.

9. Children's Privacy

Our service is not directed at children under 16. We do not knowingly collect data from children. If you believe we have inadvertently received data about a child, please contact us and we will delete it promptly.

10. Changes to This Policy

If we make material changes to this policy, we will update this page and notify waitlist members by email. The "last updated" date at the top reflects the most recent revision.
